and now for something entirely different

Don’t miss the current show, “and now for something entirely different” which opened on July 1st.

In it, Rick and Suzanne changed places: he created a series of sculptures all about the “art world” while Suzanne has a whole new body of 2D gods and goddesses! Stop by and let us know what you think.

The show will be up for several months. Just call and let us now you are on your way!

ARTPRIZE 2011

Suzanne is honored to announce that the entire Little Black Dress installation, (all 100 figures, dresses imprinted with poetry, video and sound) has been invited to The Meijer Sculpture Gardens in Grand Rapids, MI. as part of their Fall exhibition, Sculpture Today: New Forces, New Forms.

It is also part of ARTPRIZE 2011.

The exhibition dates are September 21- December 31 and will feature 25 artists from across the U.S., Canada, the U.K. and France! Sherry, Niki and I are thrilled to be included and hope to see you at the Opening on Tuesday, Sept. 20 from 6-8:00 pm.

If you haven’t been there, the Gardens are spectacular; hundreds of acres filled with world class sculpture and a first rate museum right in the middle! We are in the museum.

Blink’s current show, which opened February 18, 2011 and will run through June features the work of four artists who have taken on the ancient elements.

The premise that everything on earth was formed from the four elements: earth, air, fire and water was developed by the ancient Greeks and continued to be believed for two thousand years until the rise of modern science.

Even today, these elements continue to have a huge impact on our lives, (especially after a winter such as this one!) and led to the decision to invite these artists.

Each person chosen creates work that in some way, invokes an ancient element through the eyes of a 21st. century artist. And they each do it in their own unique way.

Joel De Grand interprets the elements through witty, large format photographs of contemporary uniforms as a way of looking at how clothing informs our view of ourselves and others.

Adam Fung’s super realistic paintings of icebergs, glaciers and volcanoes are meditations on the sublime and the infinite; a natural world in flux.

Jon Hook transforms earth and fire into mysterious, otherworldly ceramic sculptures and objects that somehow seem perfectly possible and familiar.

Valerie Taglieri transforms oil paint into air! Her luminous skies, lakes and clouds are about the magic of light and the absence of objects.
